Focusing on the design of pocket transistor radios manufactured during the 1950's & 1960's!

BULOVA HERCULES 660

In the 1950s Bulova sold a line of high end transistor radios exclusively in jewelry stores across America. This ad comes from Life Magazine and it was obviously aimed at the wealthy and affluent!

Since the arrival of portable radios en masse in the late 1920's advertisers have stuck to a tried and true formula of promoting them in outdoor settings as per this ad.
